Tetfield Under Bolt
Tetfield is a fictitious Western Region branch line terminus located
somewhere in the west of England.
We have used Peco fine scale track and points, all of which have
been ballasted and weathered.
The locomotives are mainly Graham Farish and Dapol which some have
been repainted and renumbered. The coaches were obtained from the
same manufacturers. Goods wagons are mainly Peco or N Gauge society
kits on Peco chassis. Most of the rolling stock are fitted with Peco
Elsie couplings and electromagnets are used to auto uncouple the
wagons , this allows shunting.
The buildings are made by Ratio, Ten Commandments ,Bachmann,
Metcalfe and Lyddle End, some have been modified and repainted. By
using ready made buildings saved a lot of time in making the layout.
The layout took less than a year to build. It will be featured in
the Railway Modeller late in 2011.
The model has been designed to be folded up and carried in a small
hatchback car to exhibitions.
The layout uses my own design of cassettes , an article on
constructing them appeared in April 2011 Railway Modeller.
